Hanging Art at Eye Level

While hanging art at eye level is a traditional rule of thumb, it's not a hard-and-fast rule. Consider hanging artwork at different heights or even at unconventional angles to create visual interest and break up the monotony of straight lines.

Sticking to a Neutral Colour Palette

Neutrals can be soothing and timeless, but don't be afraid to incorporate bold and bright colours into your home. Whether it's a statement wall, bold accents, or a colourful piece of furniture, colour can bring life and energy to a space.

Keeping Rug and Furniture Sizes Proportional

While it's true that large furniture can overwhelm a small room, don't be afraid to mix and match different sizes of furniture and rugs. In fact, playing with proportion can add visual interest and break up the monotony of a room.

Avoiding Dark Colours in Small Spaces.

Although dark colours can make a space feel smaller they can also make a small space feel cozy and intimate.

Not Mixing Patterns

Its true that not all patterns mix well but that doesn’t mean it’s a hard and fast rule. Mixing patterns can add depth and texture to a small space, as long as they complement each other. Consider playing with scale when rising patterns.
